Contest Overview

The Umunota Photo Contest celebrates the historic moment of Rwanda hosting the UCI Road World Championships 2025 — the first time ever in Africa.
This competition invites all photographers who covered the championship to showcase the beauty of the race, Rwanda’s landscapes, the riders, and other iconic moments that define this milestone event.

Eligibility

  • Open to all photographers who covered the UCI Road World Championships 2025 in Rwanda.
  • Both professional and amateur photographers are welcome to participate.
  • Each participant must own full copyright of all photos submitted.

Submission Guidelines

  • Each participant must submit at least two (2) photos.
  • Allowed file type (jpg, jpeg, png, webp)
  • Photos should tell a clear visual story related to the championship
  • The riders in action
  • Rwanda’s scenic landscapes along the race routes
  • Fans and cultural moments
  • Iconic images capturing the spirit of #Kigali2025
  • Each photo must include a caption explaining the story or context of the image.
  • Submission period: 5th October – 8th October 2025
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.

Voting and Selection Process

  • All accepted photos will be published on Umunota.com for public viewing and voting
  • Voting will be conducted online through Umunota’s official platform.
  • Voting period: 9th October – 23rd October 2025 (2 weeks).
  • The most voted, shared, and viewed photos will be selected as winners.
  • Any form of vote manipulation or fraudulent activity may lead to disqualification.

Prizes

  • 1st Place: 200,000 Rwandan Francs
  • 2nd Place: 150,000 Rwandan Francs
  • 3rd Place: 100,000 Rwandan Francs

Copyright and Usage Rights

  • Participants must own full rights to the photos they submit.
  • By submitting photos, participants grant Umunota.com the right to use the images for:
  • Promotional purposes related to the contest
  • Publication on Umunota’s website and social media channels
  • Media coverage of the UCI Road World Championships 2025
  • Copyright ownership remains with the photographer.

General Conditions

  • All entries must reflect original, authentic work taken by the submitting photographer.
  • Photos must not include any watermarks, logos, or text overlays.
  • Umunota reserves the right to reject any photo that violates ethical standards, copyright laws, or the contest’s objectives.
  • The decisions of the Umunota judging and verification team are final and binding.
